The Palace is an architectural marvel of the bygone era and vaunts magnificent woodcarvings and Tudor-style architecture. It is believed that once King Chamaraja Wodeyar of Wodeyar dynasty visited London and got so intrigued on watching the Windsor Castle of London that he decided to construct the Bangalore Palace on the same lines in Bangalore. The palace is adorned with lush gardens, Fortified towers, Gothic windows, battlements and turrets that lends the charm of the medieval era. Mainly constructed of wood, the palace boasts of splendid carvings and paintings. The ground floor of the Bangalore Palace comprises of a massive open square that homes granite seats. The palace also houses a ballroom, where private parties of the King used to be held. The walls of Bangalore Palace are ornamented with exquisite paintings of the mid-19th century. Yellow is the most used color in the Palace. Although the grand Bangalore Palace has failed to retain its pristine charm but it still counts as one of the most desirable tourist attraction in Bangalore.
