Bangalore Attractions-Gandhi Bhavan is situated at the Kumara Krupa road in Bangalore. The Bhavan was built in the late 40's under the direction of Rajendra Prasad, the then president of India. It was originally named as Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, but later the name changed to Gandhi Bhavan. The main aim behind the construction of the Bhavan was to traverse through the life journey of mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi Bhavan now serves as an indispensible tourist attraction in Bangalore. The Bhavan houses the lifelike pictures depicting the various phases and stages of Mahatma Gandhi's life from early childhood to the last days of his life. Besides these, there are also Photostat copies of the letters written by him to the various personalities of his time. One can also see placards with the famous quotes of Gandhiji, hanging on the walls of the Bhavan. The Bhavan is an apt way of learning about the life of the Indian hero, Mahatma Gandhi and his role in the freedom movement.
